2026 President

Nicole joined the Board in 2020. Nicole and husband LeBaron moved from Toronto in 2014. LeBaron grew up in Oakville and they were looking for a strong sense of community. They were happy to find West River. Born in London, Nicole moved to Kitchener-Waterloo when she was 10. She attended  University of Waterloo earning a degree in Biomedical Science with a minor in Computer Science. Nicole works for Cook Medical, a multinational medical device company as a Global Training Manager, specializing in ENT. She has two young daughters who love the neighbourhood, especially the walkability and community. She has a passion for learning and development but also for helping others.

Director Governance

Samantha has over 16 years of experience working in the financial industry, bringing deep expertise in strategic planning, governance, and business oversight. She is also an active member for the Oakville Hospital Foundation, contributing her time and efforts to fundraising and participating in various committees and events.

Samantha lives in Oakville with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spinning and Pilates, spending quality time with her family, and exploring Oakville’s diverse restaurant scene.

Director Events

DK was born and raised in Oakville and her family has lived in Kerr Village for almost 40 years.  DK enjoys spending time with family, walking her 2 dogs, making handmade greeting cards for family and friends, watching her daughter play softball and DK is committed to being of service, having contributed over 30 years of volunteer work in Oakville and the GTA.

DK is proficient in American Sign Language and has been engaged with the Deaf community for more than 35 years. By trade, DK and her sister, Amanda, are real estate agents with Century 21 Miller on Speers Road, and they are grateful for the opportunity to serve on the WRRA Board.

Board Member

Ian is active in policy work and seniors’ committees at the federal and provincial political level to help identify practical solutions to issues in Oakville and Ontario and Canada. 

Ian’s experience is over 40 years in Insurance and Banking including as a Chief Technology Officer and a Chief Financial Officer working on Mergers and Acquisitions, strategy, procurement and large financial and technology projects. 

His interests are cottaging, construction and greenhouse gardening and supporting his two daughters and their families.

Bruce Miller is a proud father of three having moved into West River area over 20 years ago. He thought he had moved into a house but in fact he had moved into an incredible community, centred around Forster Park and all the incredible WRRA events that have turned neighbours into lifelong friends. In his spare time Bruce leads businesses that he has proudly brought to downtown Oakville including The WORKS Craft Burgers & Beers and Pilot Coffee Roasters.

Board Member

Since 2015, Jane has been a resident of Kerr Village, where she values the vibrant community and local green spaces. She enjoys running and walking throughout the neighbourhood, activities that deepen her appreciation for the area that she is proud to call home. Jane holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. Professionally, Jane spent more than 25 years in the investment management industry, with the last four years of her career dedicated to leading a corporate-sponsored charitable foundation.

Taryn has called Oakville home for nearly a decade and has spent the past five years in West River, drawn to the neighbourhood’s strong sense of community and walkability.

With a professional background in operations, systems, and process improvement, Taryn enjoys finding practical ways to bring people and ideas together.

Taryn lives in Oakville with her husband and their rescue dog. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, travelling, spending time at the cottage, and getting outdoors whenever she can.
