West River is part of the town of Oakville and Halton Region. Contact information is: 
 

Garbage Truck
Garbage, Recycling, & Lawn Waste Pickup 

Our area uses the Green Cart system, recycling waste (bottles, plastics, paper, cardboard, etc). Pick up is every Friday (Saturday if a holiday week). Garbage is picked up every two weeks, also on Friday, as are bagged leaves and bundled branches and twigs in season. In the Fall, the Town schedules curbside leaf collection. In the Winter, the Town provides Christmas tree curbside pickup. Green Carts and blue bins are available free from Halton Region (see Government below for phone number).

West River has several lovely parks. In the centre we have Forster Park, where our Annual Picnic is held each June. Check local parks here.
